More than just a nudge

So today I am supposed to be at school. But thanks to the "Winter Blast" that has created some ice on the roads up north, my classes have been cancelled for the day. So in honor of that, I am taking advantage of having the house to myself and catching up on The Batchelor and drinking hot chocolate.
While sitting here looking at all of the heart broken women chasing after one guy, I felt our little girl moving around. I put my hand on my belly and felt more than a nudge! I'm not sure what part of her body it was, but it was hard and it lasted a little longer than the normal "twitch." It was really very special. Her daddy and I were laying in bed talking this morning and he said he was able to feel her more distinctly too! AWESOME!
I am going to do my best at posting a picture or two of my belly. You will have to forgive me for not knowing what to do with my face or my hands...but hopefully you will laugh!

Enjoy!

On my way to being an "outtie"

So I was inspecting my growing belly tonight and realized that my belly button is on its way to non-existence. Well, at least the small hole that went into my stomach is temporarily (I hope), beginning to disappear. I didn't realize that happened so soon!

I am almost 22 weeks (5 months) and my wonderful in-laws have once again came to our rescue. "Papa C" (Curtis) came out with "Me'me' " this weekend and helped Jason tear down the sheet rock in the old office/orange room/ nursery. They put new insallation in the walls, added more electrical plugs and changed the light fixtures in the room and Kitchen. Then they replaced all of the old sheet rock and Curtis flew home on Sunday. Cindy is still here and "will be here until the work is done" meaning the tape and bedding of the sheet rock, and the hard wood floor has been cleaned and the new sealant is applied. I'm telling you-she is awesome!!! For the moment our house reaks of toxic chemicals, but that will all be gone in a few days. : ) For those of you who are wondering if we are letting her have any fun at all...yes. She got to watch the inauguration today and then we made her get back to work. JK. I try to encourage her taking a break as many times as possible so that she doesn't just work while she is here. We are so lucky to have her and that she is willing to work so hard to help us. Thank you, CINDY!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

We will post pictures of the latest project as soon as we get the pics developed.

We had a great Christmas and got to see a lot of our family back in NM. There was even snow in the mountains so the girls got to play in the snow. Elena loved throwing herself onto the snow and using her chest as a sled. Again, pics will be posted as soon as we can.

Well, Happy New year to all, and we look forward to keeping you updated with the latest!

Nursery Colors

Now that we know the little thing is a girl, we can start picking out colors for the nursery.

We went and got some fabric swatches to see what we liked. here is what we are thinking so for:

swatches

Not the traditional baby pink. But we aren't all that traditional! The scan makes them look a little more drab than what they are in person. I think it will make a great looking room for mom and baby both.

Verdict is in - it is a GIRL!

For all of those who were voting for a boy, thank you. Your support is appreciated.

But we are very excited to find out we are having a girl! Here are some pics of the very active girl!
