So last Saturday Elena came home from a birthday party with a fever. We were up all night fighting with it ranging from 100.0-104.0. Sunday she rested but still we fought with the fever. So she stayed home from school Monday. We took her to the Doctor on Monday and he said it was a "viral infection" but gave us a perscription for amoxicillan (sp?) just in case.Tuesday she started feeling better and her fever went down on its own! So-we sent her to school on Wednesday. Thursday she woke up with a bad cough and a low grade fever, so she got to stay home yet again, but we turned in the perscription and she began taking her pills the same day. Friday she still had the cough but no fever. We decided to keep her home one more time just to monitor her. Everything is back to normal with this kid other than the cough. But it has been an interesting week! : )
For Bonnie, she has had a very good week! She was nomionated and selected to receive the "Viking Badge of Honor" which is the highest award a Vivian Field middle school student can achieve. She was nominated by four of her teachers based on her behavior, scholastic standing, honesty and respect towards the teachers and other students. She was super surprised and very honored to receive this award. Jason and I are also very proud of her and again, through this saw the Lord's grace and glory. It was humbling to us to see how other people see who God intened her to be and sometimes as parents we are a little too hard on her...because we want her to do her best. But ulitmately-God is in control and he has her in his huge hands even when we are not around. : ) Thank you Lord! Another cool thing this week for Bonnie is that she got to show a group of fifth graders around the school and answer any questions they may have about middle school. She also go to perform with Choir and Orchestra. I'm going to try to post a video of her choir bc I couldn't get her face in the orchestra-though they did a great job as well!
Enjoy! (you can see Bonnie in the top row second from the left)
