May I say, first that it has been such a great week and a half. Clara has made our enitre house light up. Bonnie and Elena have loved holding her, kissing her and playing with her. Although there is not much playing-but occasionally she will stay awak long enough to make us feel like she is really listening to us and knows our voices. The week we came home from the hospital (memorial day weekend) Jason's grandparents and great Aunt were in town and they came over to the house a lot. My mom and mother in law were also in town and helped us out at the house a lot. It was a very special week and weekend not only because we got to have our baby girl but because most of our family was here to share it with us.
I will also say that the day she came (May 21st) we got to the hospital at 5am and they started the pitocin around 6:20am. I went without the epidural until 5cm which was around 11am. All day I had friends and family coming in and out. At one point I felt well enough to play a game of Phase 10 with Mona and Jessica...that was funny! I at one point had a hard time remember which phase I was on bc of the drugs. So-we stopped. I also had several movies-"Yes Man," "Moulin Rouge" "Seven Pounds" (Which I do not reccomed while you are in labor-very depressing). Then around 7:30 my doc came in and she broke my water. Around 2 or so the Doc came back and she was sure we would have a baby no later than 5pm that evening. Woo-hoo!!! But that was not the case. Around 8:30 or so the Doc came back and said we had along time of pushing ahead of us so I needed to get started. Well, long story short and two and a half ours of pushing later-Clara had her first breath of air! It was sweet and I was exhausted! But could not have done it without the support and prayers of all of you. Thank you a thousand times. You are a blessing to us. Your thoughts and prayers got us through this long day and have humbled me to the miracle of life that only God has the power to give.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the last week and a half. I hope you enjoy our little miracle as much as we do.

Jason and I went to Target with Clara and when we opened the car door, this is what we saw...either she had pulled her head band down, or it was too big to start with. Either way, it is too cute!

Here are some pictures of some of Miss Clara's firsts this week. This is a picture of us at the pediatricians office Tuesday May 26th. That was a very busy day for us... Our friend Krisitn happened to be at the Doc's office so she offered to take a pic of the three of us. Notice the book Jason is hold "Quiet and Loud." The loud part of the book happened to be on the the same side I was sitting on. Jason thought he was funny.

Here is Dr. Siedel showing Clara who was in control. He wrapped her up so fast that she had no idea what happened. The look on her face says it all.

Here is her first bath. We were not sure what the best way was to do this-so we had a major team effort!

Big sister Elena had a talent show on the 26th and we decided to venture out into the world to listen to the talent at Janie Stark. Clara was not too impressed, however, as she slept the entire time.

Here are some pics that I just love...
